Questions

Straight answers, before you call.

Most people have the same four or five questions, and most of them are about money and insurance. Those come first here, on purpose.

I Insurance and cost

Do I keep my insurance?

Yes, and you should. Bring your current plan with you. Visits, labs, imaging, specialist referrals and hospital care continue to be billed to your insurance exactly as they are today. The membership fee is separate, and it covers services insurance does not pay for.

So am I paying twice?

No. You are paying for two different things. Insurance pays for the medical care. Your insurance pays for sick care. The membership pays for the preventive care that insurance does not typically cover: the Annual Wellness Program, 24/7 physician availability, and a yearly prevention plan built around you.

How much does membership cost?

Membership is a flat annual fee, and you will know the exact figure before you commit to anything. Many members put an HSA or FSA toward it. Call the office and we will walk you through the number and what it includes, with no obligation.

Do you accept Medicare?

Medicare continues to cover the care it covers today, billed the same way. The annual membership fee is for non-covered services and is paid separately. The office can explain exactly how the two work together in your situation.

II About membership

What is the difference between this and a standard practice?

A standard practice is built around treating problems as they come up, and the schedule reflects that. This practice is deliberately smaller, and the year is built around the Annual Wellness Program: an advanced exam, comprehensive screenings and diagnostics, and a wellness plan written for you. Your insurance continues to cover your sick visits, labs, imaging and hospital care exactly as it does today.

What is MDVIP?

MDVIP is the national network Dr. Williams affiliated with in 2023. It provides the structure of the annual wellness program and the screening that goes with it. The practice, the office, and the physician are his. MDVIP is the framework, not the doctor.

Why does the practice have to be smaller?

Because time is the whole product. A physician carrying a conventional patient load cannot give anyone a full morning once a year and still answer the phone the same day. Limiting the practice is what makes the rest of it possible.

Can I meet Dr. Williams before I decide?

Yes, and most people do. Nobody is asked to commit on the phone. The usual path is a conversation with the office, then an in-person visit with Dr. Williams, and only then a decision.

III The practice

I am already a patient here. What changes for me?

Call the office and ask about the transition. Existing patients are always the first conversation we have, and nobody is rushed.

Where is the office and where do I park?

Suite 150 at 1800 W. Big Beaver Rd in Troy, just off I-75, with free surface parking at the door and step-free entry to the suite.

Which hospital is Dr. Williams affiliated with?

He has been on staff at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy since 1999 and holds several leadership roles there, so if you are admitted, your physician is part of that hospital, not a stranger to it.

What actually happens after I fill out the form?

A member of the office calls you, usually the same business day. It is a conversation, not a sales call, and there are no health questions on the form for you to answer.

Something not answered here? Ring the office on (248) 688-0917 and ask. Asking a question does not put you on any list.
