Stephen Williams Internal Medicine, M.D., P.C. Troy, Michigan Since 1999
The physician
Stephen A. Williams, M.D.
Board certified in internal medicine, on staff at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy since 1999, and caring for patients in the same community for more than twenty-five years.
Stephen A. Williams, M.D. · Troy, Michigan
Dr. Williams grew up in Royal Oak. He studied biology at the University of Michigan, graduating with high honors, and earned his medical degree at Wayne State University, where he received the Penfil Award. He completed his internship and his internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, serving as chief resident in his final year.
He returned to Michigan in 1999, joined the staff of what is now Corewell Health Beaumont Troy, and has cared for patients in Troy ever since. Over those years he has taken on work well beyond his own exam rooms: he directs Beaumont’s precision health genetics screening program, serves as an associate medical director of its accountable care organization, sits on its medical executive committee, and teaches on the faculty of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
In 2023 he affiliated the practice with MDVIP, which let him cut the number of patients he carries and rebuild the practice around prevention and time. It is the same physician, in the same office, on the same hospital staff. There are simply fewer people on the schedule, and a great deal more of him for each of them.
“I believe that we are all unique individuals with unique challenges and strengths.” Dr. Williams, on how he approaches care
He and his wife have three daughters. He calls being a husband and a father his proudest accomplishment.
